How to take photos that grade accurately
- Take the card out of its sleeve or toploader.
- Lay it flat on a plain, dark surface and shoot straight down, not at an angle.
- Use bright, even light and tilt away from glare. Glare hides scratches.
- Fill most of the frame with the card, with a little border showing on all four sides.
- Hold steady. A blurry photo can't prove a card is clean, so it caps the grade.
